Five Ways to Fight Dry Skin

Use a moisturizing body wash. Olay Moisture Ribbons Plus Body Wash – This has been a recent favorite of mine because it helps to keep my skin hydrated during these harsh winter months. Living in New York City, it tends to be windy which makes it feel even colder.

Unlike other body washes I’ve tried, by skin doesn’t feel stripped after using this product. My favorite scents right now are the Shea + Lavender Oil and the Shea + Manuka Honey. Since I workout, I tend to shower twice a day. It’s rich lather and conditioning formula is something I look forward to after spin class! Be sure to pat dry, rather than rubbing the towel against your skin.

Use a humidifier. Having the heat on at school and in my apartment also dries out my skin. Using a humidifier in my apartment, especially when I sleep, makes a noticeable difference.

Pay attention to water temperature. Avoid taking extra hot showers or baths, as this can strip the skin of its natural oils. Try using lukewarm water instead.

Exfoliate a few times a week. You don’t want to be applying your moisturizer over a layer of dead skin cells. It’s the new cells that you need to nourish and protect.

Apply moisturizer right after your shower. If you’re still a bit damp, it will help to lock in the moisture even more.

I’d like to invite you to join me in the Winter Skin Challenge – with just one use of Olay’s Moisture Ribbons Plus body wash you’ll feel softer and more moisturized skin.

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Holidays!
