Dry Brushing is something I’ve introduced into my routine in the past year or so. It’s simple and inexpensive, so I figured why not.
It’s basically the act of brushing your body in an upward motion toward your heart. The bristles are quite stiff, which helps to sweep away dead skin cells.
Because the brush is stiff, it’s able to stimulate your body’s lymphatic system! The lymphatic system is your body’s natural detox system. This means that it collects and transports waste to the blood, which is essentially lymphatic drainage.
Dry brushing has also been said to help with cellulite, when done on a consistent basis. I used to have a little bit of cellulite on my butt, but I lost twenty pounds since then. Maybe dry brushing helped top!
How I do it:
Although it’s called dry brushing, I typically like to use a small amount of argan oil or rosehip seed oil on my brush. I dry brush toward my heart for about 3-5 minutes, twice daily.
Let me know if you’ve tried dry brushing before, or if you decide to give it a go!
