Antioxidant Chocolate Milkshake

Hey Guys! Today I’ll be sharing my favorite sweet treat with you. It’s a plant based, chocolate milkshake.

Cacao is one of the world’s most antioxidant rich foods. Even higher than green tea and red wine! It also has magnesium, iron and fiber. Chia seeds are also high in antioxidants, plus omega 3’s, fiber and calcium. Don’t you hate those Pinterest recipes that make you scroll through three hours of b.s. to get to the actual recipe? Let’s get to the good stuff.

Here’s what you’ll need (for one serving):

  • One ripe banana (You can also use a frozen banana. In that case, you won’t need ice cubes.)
  • 3-5 ice cubes
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons of raw cacao powder
  • 1 cup of almond, coconut or oat milk
  • 2 tablespoons of chia seeds

I just throw it all into my Vitamix and violá! A thick, creamy milkshake that’s actually good for you.

I’ve also been using adaptogenic mushrooms in my smoothies and shakes, which is completely optional. I’ll explain more about the benefits of these mushrooms in a later post, as I am still learning!
